This afternoon in Trim Circuit Court Ms. Maire Tehan the County Registrar and returning officer for the East constituency in the forthcoming European Elections accepted and validated Liam O Gogains nomination papers for the Euro election but not without first striking out Liams occupation as a Father, while accepting College lecturer. This is the third time in the election process that Liam has been abused by state officials, as in 2002 the very same thing happened to him in both the Dail and Seanad elctions. see latest news for more

 

Introduction
In order for the candidate to complete their application they need 60 assenters to sign the nomination form. An assenter is a person who is registered on the register of electors in the constituency in which the candidate wishes to be elected in. For a more detailed explanation I would like to direct you to the Irish Governments website Oasis (Online Access to Services, Information and Support). This site provides information on the social and civil rights of everyone in Ireland.

What you can do!
If you wish to assent to Liam's nomination form you can go direct to the Louth County Council offices in Dundalk or Meath County Council offices in Navan.

All you have to do is produce some form of photographic identification and inform them that you wish to assent to Liam O Gogains nomination form. It is advisable to call in advance before you turn up at the offices as these people could be attending meetings etc.
